Vintage Pattern - Simplicity 1961 Men's Shirt
Sew with vintage menswear patterns to gain access to the huge range of styles, sizes, construction techniques, and drafting styles offered in past decades! Sewing with a vintage pattern is a fun glimpse in to a past era and a great way to sew menswear styles that are not currently offered by pattern companies.
Here is a little bit of info about this particular pattern:
Garment Description: This shirt is styled with a double yoke, encased seams and a six-button frotn closing. The back is gathered to the yoke seam and short openings at the lower edge of the side seams finish the shirt. Styles 1 and 3 are finished with flap pockets and Style 2 has convenient patch pockets. Choose long or short sleeves.
Style Number: 1961
Pattern Company: Simplicity
Size: Small (14-14 1/2" Neck, 34-36" Chest)
Seam Allowance Included: Some are 1/2" and some are 3/4" and are included on pattern pieces.
Condition: The pre-cut pieces are unprinted and are instead marked with punched holes that are explained within the instructions. A very old style of pattern in excellent condition!
Please note: Vintage patterns have not been taken out of their envelopes by us so we can not guarantee that all pieces are intact. We try to handle the patterns as little as possible to ensure that the aged paper envelopes do not degrade.
Our vintage patterns have been offered to us by fellow sewists like you! They have variable prices to cover the shipping cost required to send the patterns to the Thread Theory studio. We have purchased some of these patterns but others have been given to us (we only paid for shipping) because the owner wanted to pass their collection on the to the rest of the menswear sewing community (thank you!). If you would like to de-stash your menswear patterns, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we would happily discuss purchasing them from you.
