Bell Tape Measure - Imperfect but beautiful
NOTE: This listing is for the last six bell tape measures that we have in stock. Wray sadly passed away some time ago and we have kept a small selection of his remaining inventory on our shelves. The price has been reduced as the tape measures on this small stock are slightly discolored in parts due to the wood varnish Wray used or have slightly fuzzy screen printing. Your order will include a random wood combination.
A small satin tape measure cleverly disguised as a wooden bell. The smoothly swiveling handle serves to wind up the measuring ribbon. The ribbon is screen printed with measurement markings up to 24" and features a brass pull tab (choose from imperial, or a combination tape that has metric on one side and imperial on the other). This decorative tool would be a beautiful addition to your sewing box or knitting bag.
Each bell is an intricately lathe turned piece which has been handcrafted by Vancouver Island woodworker, Wray Parsons. It comes with an etched signature by the artist. The satin measuring ribbons were custom screen printed locally.
These tape measures are created using sustainably harvested woods - some local and some purchased from ethical exotic sources. Each tape measure is unique and combines two contrasting woods of various sorts (Zebra Wood, Cocobolo Rosewood, Yellow Cedar etc.).
